This is an antique money box in the shape of a little rabbit or a Hare eating a cabbage, made from cast cold painted metal.

There are some little gears and stuff on the inside that can be seen from the base. I haven't tested this out but I can only assume that the rabbit's ears lift up when a coin is inserted into the slot. The ears still move nicely.

I have just tested it with a modern 5 pence coin and when pushed through the slot at the top, the ears lift up so in fully working condition.

Last collector says this was made by Kilgore Manufacturing Co.

The bottom of the money box is MISSING. That is the only issue with this fairly scarce money box.

No maker's marks from what I can see.

Please see photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition.
Normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs and minor impact marks etc.
The paintwork is chipped and worn.
The base cover piece is missing.

It measures approx. 2 and 1/2 inches tall x 4 and 1/4 inches x 2 and 1/2 inches.

It weighs approx. 450g.

My stock ref..... in LEEVINTIQUES antique shop in Bedale.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
