An Elegant Late Victorian 18 Karat Yellow Gold and Paste Mourning Ring With Black Enamel Shoulders and Split Seed Pearls Surrounding the Nevette Face.  The nscription on the inside of the band shows the ring is dedicated to Mary Ellis, who died on the May 19th 1896 aged 78. In keeping with Victorian tradition, the nevette locket compartment has been furnished with a lock of Mary's own hair.
