Here is a Royal Copenhagen Overglaze Figurine of a Fisherman from Skagen, Number 12214

It is a very rare and spectacular piece with exquisite overglaze painting and the Juliane Marie Mark.

The figurine was designed by the Danish sculptor Carl Martin-Hansen (1877-1941). It is part of his series of colorful overglaze figurines depicting people from the coastlines of Denmark in traditional, regional dress. These figurines are highly desirable and valuable. They are no longer made and hard to find. This is one of Martin-Hansen's large singular figures that is particularly rare and valuable.

The figurine depicts a fisherman dressed for his vocation and holding a fishing net. He is from Skagen, a peninsula that is the northernmost point of Denmark. The detail is incredible and the painting very fine. The industrious, stern man feels very alive and real. He wears his rain hat and waterproof coat, pants and boots, and stands atop a very fine, gilded pedestal.

This figurine is factory first quality, made and hand painted in Denmark in 1960.

The figurine is in excellent condition. There are no apparent damages -- no cracks, chips or repairs. I see no apparent issues. There may be slight discrete normal variances from factory production and light wear to the base of the figurine.

The figurine measures approximately 12 1/4 inches tall.
