Fenton Gift Shop Limited Edition Lighthouse. #7 of only 31 made. Signed by artist Kim Barley
This 8” Lighthouse was handcrafted in Black Satin glass (5” base) with a crystal (3”) top, using the Fenton Art Glass molds that were not used for production before glassmaking halted at Fenton in 2011. Kim Barley transformed the Fairy Light base into a winter wonderland complete with a red barn, rustic fence and colorful pine trees. She then created a scene of a small black bear taking a closer look at the inviting scene. Perhaps this wee bear has awakened from a short winter slumber and climbed the tree in order to see what’s in the barn. Notice the one paw placed above the eye as if the bear is trying to see something far away? A red cardinal, perched atop one of the fence posts, welcomes the bear from his nap. Did you know. . . Although most bears hibernate or “den” during the winter months, the duration of hibernation depends upon the location.
Hibernation may vary from a few days or weeks to a few months or more. Bears make their dens in hollow trees, logs, or under the root mass of a tree. You’ll also receive a battery operated tea light with each Lighthouse that fits perfectly on the top of the base in a recessed area measuring approximately 1-1/5” diameter. You’ll delight in the soft warm glow from the lighthouse top. Kim painted window details and adding soft golden hues to resemble the lighthouse beacon.
This item was pressed by Mosser Glass of Ohio, using original Fenton molds. Fenton Gift Shop hand paints these as limited edition collectibles.
