Vintage D'Arceau Limoges Premier Edition Lafayette Legacy Series.


This is a collectible plate is part of a series of 6 plates from 1973. The plates reflected different scenes of the revolutionary war and have a story on the back written in French. This plate measures 8-1/2 across and is in good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.


Plate II (2) in the series and the painting on the plate is depicting a scene from a meeting between Silas Deane, an American soldier fight for American Independence from Britain, and the Marquis de Lafayette. At this meeting Lafayette signed a contract committing himself to aid in the Rebels fights against Britain.


Plate III (3) After a Dinner at the City Tavern of Philadelphia the 13th of July 1777 George Washington Invites the Marquis De Lafayette to join his General Staff.


Plate V (5) Lafayette Remits Messages from Congress to Benjamin Franklin American Minister, in February, 1779, at the Hotel Valentinois, In Pass.


Plate VI (6) Lafayette with Washington and Rochambeau at the Siege of Yorktown in October, 1781, Forces the Englishman Cornwallis into Surrender (The Capitulation).
