You are buying a white ironstone serving bowl which has the brown "Windsong" pattern. The eight is 2 1/2 inches. Top opening has a diameter of 8 3/8 inches. Bottom reads "ROYLA STAFFORDSHIRE WINDSONG BY J&G MEAKIN ENGLAND DISHWASHER SAFE" in black. This beautiful bowl has no chips or cracks but does have surface scratches from use in the inside bottom.
