This is a handmade crocheted yoke for a nightgown from the Edwardian era.  It is made of cotton crochet and has mellowed to a cream color.  This was a style of nightgown with a fancy crocheted yoke to which a body of cotton or linen would be attached, and the yokes were saved for reuse.  This one has been used, because you can see a strip of fabric at the bottom where the nightgown body was cut off.  It is made of cotton crochet, in an all-over pattern.  It has the shape of inverted triangles and the fabric is overlapped at the center front.  There is a 2" band going around the body under the arms,  Along the bottom it measures 16" on each side, for a 32" bust.  At the tops each side narrows to 1" and widens to 7" just above the base.   The top and arm edges have a half-circle trim that gives them a lacey look.

I have laundered and pressed this, and found the fabric to be in sound condition, soft and supple and not brittle.
This one has been used before but is in very good condition with only a bit of color variation.  There is, however, that strip of fabric to remove if you want to reuse it.  I am also listing 2 others, so please check those too!
