First edition. Formerly owned (with autograph notes) by the famous Japanese translator of William Blake's writings, Jyugaku Bunsyo Writings. Complete with errata. Complete, with all contents and outer wrappers.


Condition: Exterior scuffing. Library slip on the front endpaper. Otherwise, the book is clean and in good condition. Currently out of print or out of print by the publisher.


A collection of lectures on painting given by Johann Heinrich Fuseli at the Royal Academy of Arts in 1801. Includes one William Blake etching (Portrait of Michelangelo, images 9-10). This is a rare item with a note of Jyugaku's text on the said Blake copperplate engraving.
