However, the only similarities with the original game are that the heroine's name is Shiori Fujisaki and that the story of the legendary tree is told. Also, Shiori Fujisaki is a childhood friend of the main character who moved in when she was little, but unlike the original game, she is two years younger than the main character. The role of Shiori Fujisaki was played by Kazue Fukiishi, who made her debut as an actress in this work.

The main filming locations are present-day Suo-Oshima-cho, Oshima-gun, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and Ohata Station on the Sanyo Main Line of the West Japan Railway Company.
