An important 1993 Ukraine majolica Ukraine Christmas Ceremony vase produced in Kosiv, the most important and renowned Ukrainian ceramics centre, in Ukraine's Hutsul region (South-Eastern part of Ukrainian Carpathians), by Petro Hryvinskiy, a famous modern days Ukrainian ceramist.
The vase has a traditional pear shaped body with cylindrical neck and elegant handles on both sides in the form of twisted ram horns. It is painted underglaze brown and green colors, over a creamy background colour, traditional for this centre of ceramic production. All the patterns on this vase were firstly cut in the still soft clay, which is a unique regional specific.
The vase features the deep routed regional Christmas tradition of caroling festivities. This tradition combined Christian ceremonial traditions with pagan. People wore traditional clothes, some dressed as traditional Christmas characters, were accompanied by the local clergy, and walked around the towns and villages carrying church flags and signing carols.
This vase was made by Petro Hryvinskiy, born 1959, a famous modern Ukrainian ceramist who continues the tradition of Hutsul Kosiv ceramics established in the XIX century. He is famous for creating a series of hand made plates featuring Ukrainian historical leaders - Hetmans, as well as other highest quality decorative ceramics in the traditional style.
Hutsul region was part of the Osman empire until 1770 and was taken over by the Austrian empire later on, but despite this, managed to develop and preserve unique local heritage and traditions, specifically in iconography and decorative ceramics.
The vase is in the mint condition.

Returns
Returns are accepted within 30 days from item receipt. Refunds will be made after return of the item in original condition.
If you return your purchase you will be responsible for the cost of shipping it back to me. You will be refunded the purchase price less the outbound shipping cost and a 15% restocking fee as permitted by eBay Seller Rules.

If you receive an item damaged in the mail, please do not attempt to return the item.
