All of the prints from this great series have very limited availability, especially unframed and in mint condition. Most were framed without using conservation materials and consequentially damaged and of little value.
As in so many of Les Kouba's paintings, he portrays something that is 'Classic America' as this familiar western Americana scene which I can remember during the 'Depression Years’.
The titles of the six prints the comprise “The American Classic Series” and the availability are as follows: (Note pictures of each)
FALL PLOWING – Available signed and unsigned
SHARPTAILS AT HARVEST TIME – Available signed and numbered and signed Printer’s Proofs
OUT AT THE OLD SAW RIG – Available unsigned only
CORN PICKIN’ IN THE 1930’S – Available signed and unsigned
ANTELOPE IN RANCH COUNTRY – Available signed and numbered and signed Printer’s Proofs
THE END OF A CLASSIC ERA – Available signed and unsigned
I enjoy reading what Les has to say about this, and the other 5 pieces in The American Classic Series as told by Les in the book 'The Legacy of Les C. Kouba'. "Each piece portrays the memory of a precious moment in American history." Les did an extraordinary job of pictorially blending this history with wildlife.
