A beautiful, antique stickpin featuring a bird (swallow or swift) in flight, mounted with five tiny seed pearls & three Turquoise gemstones.
The head of the pin measures 10.5 x 12mm
Hallmarked: 9ct (denotes 9ct gold).
This romantic pin may have been given to a loved one when departing for war (the swallow was the first bird seen near land and symbolised a safe journey home) the pearls resembling purity & chastity.
