1970s thriller in which a former spy is called out of retirement to help out his one-time prot�g�. Though the Cold War rages on, the KGB and CIA strike a bargain to assassinate former agents who could prove embarrassing to them. Top of the list of targets the CIA pass to their Russian counterparts is Gabriel Lee (Oliver Reed). Lee's only hope seems to be his ex-mentor, Sam Lucas (Richard Widmark), who now lives a happy life away from espionage with his partner, Deborah (Gayle Hunnicutt), but will Lucas be prepared to risk his happiness by becoming involved in spy-games again?
