Condition: These MINT stamps are in excellent condition with no smears or stains. The stamps have not been previously hinged.

Background To issue: The traditional Christmas stamps for 2018 are based on paintings by Ursula Betka, which were created using age-old medieval techniques. The glowing-jewel like colours are achieved through the use of egg tempera, a mixture made from a blend of natural pigments and egg yolk. The exquisite gold brocade effect was achieved with burnished 23-karat gold leaf and the traditional medieval method of scraffito, where the decoration is delineated with a fine, sharp metal point.
