Referencing my photos, the top one appears to be a souvenir from Capri, an island off the coast of Naples, Italy. It has some age to it and its sound is not unlike castanets. The lower of the two is not marked. In spite of its gaiety, I doubt it's a child's toy. It's well-made and the two pins could poke an eye out. Its sound is not unlike something I've heard at Native American celebrations.
