The Waldorf Q Desktop Synth is a compact and powerful synthesiser that offers the same exceptional sound quality and features as its larger counterpart, the Waldorf Q Keyboard Synth. Introduced in 1998, by the German company Waldorf Music, it gained popularity for it’s build quality, user-friendly interface, flexible modulation capabilities and rich sound palette.

Despite its size, it retains the essence of the original Q series and has a combination of analogue modelling with digital processing techniques to emulate the warmth and sounds of classic analogue synths.

With three oscillators per voice, the Q allows the creation of a wide range of sounds, from big basses and sweeping pads, to intricate leads involving textures.

In terms of control, the Q features an intuitive layout with a panel of knobs, sliders and buttons, making it easy to tweak and shape sounds in real-time.

This particular unit was taken from a studio that closed in the 2000s and has been in storage ever since. It was serviced at the start of 2023 and is being sold in working order.

Cosmetically it’s in nice shape, with the usual cosmetic marks and blemishes to the case, as to be expected from professional used studio equipment.

The PSU and cable was originally hard-wired to the unit, but it has been modified so that the cable is separate from the unit. The unit comes with the correct 12V-1A power supply, but it has a 2-pin European plug, so will need a simple plug adapter if using in the UK.

These have become increasingly rare and sought after over the years. Offers close to the listed price may be considered, but please note we are in no rush to sell.

This unit comes with the power cable, but there is no box or manual.
