Seahorse Pendant Tutorial Booklet for Wirework Jewellery making by Rachel Norris.

Rachel Norris is an award winning jewellery designer who appears regularly on TV and online teaching how to make wirework jewellery.

INTRODUCTION: Seahorses are beautiful little marine creatures. They are a type of upright pipe fish with horse-like heads, in the genus hippocampus from the Greek for ‘hippo’ meaning horse and ‘campus’ meaning sea monster. The seahorse is regarded in many cultures as a symbol of good luck and guidance especially for those travelling on the sea.

I have chosen some lovely seahorse colourways as in nature they have many colourway variations.  They rely on camouflage,  blending in with their surroundings to avoid predators.  I  will show in this booklet how to make two seahorse designs with a few necklace designs to hang them from. They can be used separately or together, made into brooches, pendants or even placed within photo frames as ornaments or pictures.

Rachel shows in this 44 page A4 full colour booklet how to make two beautiful seahorse designs.

During these tutorials we will be using wire wire forming, shaping, cabochon setting, hammering, weaving layering and binding wirework techniques. These designs can be made in all sorts of bead and gemstone colours and wire tones as jewellery designs to treasure, gift and keep.
