This is a vintage antique sample of wire fencing.   This sample features a Royal Eaton patent, dated September 02, 1884.   This wire is called "Eaton's Alternating Twist Galvanized Picket Wire" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 81-A).  This wire features two line wires twisted together.  Twist of wires alternate at each picket opening.    Wire sample shows minimal pitting.  There are five picket openings.  Openings are well spaced, and cut is well centered.   There are no breaks or welds..
