A gorgeous , hand woven linen with a STUNNING magenta toned stripe!! ~*~ It's a burgundy tone with a hint of magenta! ~*~ , from Europe dating c 1890-1910 . The ground tone is a darker warm tone of greige ~ A plain weave, medium open weave ~ ~ This fabric was hand woven on the family farms to be used for heavy grain sacking. This fabric is practically indestructible ~ Machine washable over and over , very heavy STURDY and gorgeous ~ It took the average weave an entire night to weave just 21 inches of this fabric. That's after growing the hemp, retting the fivers, spinning them and then weaving! ~ An amazing amount of work went into making this fabric. This bolt is ideal for window treatments, table runners, pillows , clothing, curtains, etc! Wonderfully high quality. I love knowing these linens were grown without the use of pesticides, just lovely natural fabric. ~*~ *~ ( EL 4829 )
