~*~ Hello and welcome to the Textile Trunk! Please follow us on Instagram, we are @textiletrunk ~*~

This wonderful textile is a French workwear apron c. 1900-1920. This apron is a heavyweight cotton material and is a beautiful deep blue color. The texture is heavy duty but still smooth- almost like canvas. The apron has a strap that circles around the back of the waist and fastens on the left side with a button. The apron has two large pockets on the front. The waist is gathered. This is a machine stitched textile but there are some mistakes in the stitching if you look closely as if someone was just learning to sew- such a sweet touch! This apron would be wonderful for use as a kitchen apron, or an artist's apron as the pockets are very deep and could hold many paintbrushes or other tools! This would also look gorgeous hanging in a kitchen as art. Overall a stunning textile!

MEASUREMENTS: This gorgeous antique apron measures approximately:
Waist: 14 inches laid flat, 29.5 from end to end of the strap
Length: 34 inches

CONDITION : This lovely textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. There are some dark stains on the front of the apron that appear to be ink marks. There is also a slightly crinkled pattern of fading on this skirt giving it a beautiful, textural appearance. This textile is in wonderful condition for its age and use, however it is not without signs of time and use, inherent in antique textiles.
