Description
These wonderful tiles were salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian.
Originally they filled the opening of a fireplace mantel.
There is a great variety of tiles.
Most are marked Kensington on the backs.
The last pic shows how it was prior to removal, some tiles were missing already and some broke during removal.
We replaced the broken tiles and reconfigured a little bit using other antique tiles.
Some of the replacements will need to be trimmed to fit.
Measurements are 42 inches wide by 34 tall.
Overall they are in good condition. There is some mortar on the backs but most is off. They'll need a good cleaning. The transfer portrait tile is cracked. There are misc edge, corner and surface dings. Please look at the pictures carefully.

I accept returns only if my description is inaccurate. For example, if I pull an item from a building that I believe to be original to the house and it is later discovered to be a reproduction, or if I enter an incorrect measurement, I will allow the buyer to return the item. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch.

My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job!
