Thank you for visiting Shanna's Attic.

Genuine NASA Space shuttle flown gold coated mylar. This swatch of mylar was on the space Shuttle Columbia during flight STS-09 in 1983. The mylar was used as an insulating and protective layer during the nearly two week space mission being exposed to the cosmic rays that would otherwise prove harmful. Purchased at an official NASA auction. The Columbia was lost with all hands in 2003.

One display case per bid. Display case measures ~4x6 cm.

This listing is part of a new line we are introducing 'A Piece of History'. Each will represent a genuine relic from history, often taken from a larger piece. Each will come with a colour 4x6 inch information card that will include any COAs that came with the item when it was purchased. This will allow you to keep track of the provenance of each item. Relics are available in different size.
