Handwritten postcard

from Hunter S. Thompson

Addressed to his childhood friend with great, clipped message

Hollywood, CA: Continental Hyatt House, 1969. Pictorial postcard. Signed in red ink by Hunter S. Thompson with a great inscription. Postmarked 4 March 1969, Glenwood Springs, CO. 3.5" x 5.5". Very Good with general light wear and mild toning, some creasing at bottom left corner.

Handwritten note from Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson to his childhood friend Paul Semonin, on a pictorial postcard from the Continental Hyatt House in Hollywood, California. It reads in full: "What now? Why? And what next? Send word - H. [circled]"

As chronicled in his story "Mescalito," Hunter first tried mescaline at the Continental Hyatt House in February of 1969, so it can be assumed that this card was purchased on / during that trip.
