Vintage poly&cotton hankie with appliqué made in Madeira, Portugal.
The sheer fabric handmade hankie with embroidered details (French knots and simple stitching) and red flower appliqué is one of many treasured I have inherited from my great-aunt Amelia.
With its original label (Desco), the hankie, a smaller square than more typical Made in Madeira hankies tend to be, measures
11 1/2" x 11 1/2". The fabric composition is 65% polyester 35% cotton. There is no evidence of staining or odor. The handwork is especially "well done" exquisite.
