Riesig werdende Tillandsia aus dem Süden von Mexiko. Erreicht bis zu 90 cm im Durchmesser und ist dabei sehr pflegeleicht!

• Beschreibung: Tillandsia xerographica ist eine sehr groß werdende und trockenheitsliebende Tillandsia aus dem Süden von Mexiko. Sie kann einen Durchmesser von bis zu 90 cm erreichen und bildet einen Blütenstand der ebenfalls 90 bis 100 cm hoch werden kann. Wie die meisten Tillandsia ist auch T. xerographica ein Epiphyt. Sie wächst auf Bäumen und Sträuchern in sogenannter “Dornstrauchsavanne”.

  
  

• Pflege: Diese Tillandsie mag einen vollsonnigen Standort. Sie braucht viel direktes Licht. Ein Platz am Süd- oder Westfenster mit direkter Sonne ist ideal. Zur Bewässerung sollte sie alle 1 bis 2 Tage kräftig angesprüht oder alle 3 bis 4 Tage vollständig für 5 bis 10 Minuten getaucht werden. Die Farbe ändert sich dabei von grau zu grün, was anzeigt, dass sie noch lebt.

  Gedüngt werden sollte nur sparsam, am besten in halber oder sogar nur 1/4 der vom Hersteller angegebenen Konzentration. Der Dünger kann (natürlich verdünnt) direkt ins Sprühwasser gemischt werden.

• Description: Tillandsia xerographica is a very big and drought-tolerant Tillandsia from southern Mexico. It can reach a diameter of up to 90 cm and forms an inflorescence that can also grow 90 to 100 cm high. Like most Tillandsia, T. xerographica is an epiphyte. It grows on trees and shrubs in so-called “thorn bush savannah”.

  
  

• Care: This Tillandsia likes a full sun location. It needs a lot of direct light. A place by the south or west window with sunshine all day is ideal. For watering it should be sprayed vigorously every 1 to 2 days or fully submerged for 5 to 10 minutes every 3 to 4 days. The colour changes from grey to green, indicating that it is still alive.

  Fertilise sparingly, preferably at half or even 1/4 the concentration specified by the manufacturer. The fertiliser (diluted, of course) can be mixed directly into the irrigation water.
