Vintage, yet NEW IN BOX, Calvert Extra, advertising promo, hurricane oil lamp made by HILCO, New York. Lamp only removed and put together for pics. The wall mount just squeezes around the lamp base and the round back reflector is placed on the door mount.

Calvert Extra, from what I read, was discontinued earlier this year (after more than 50 years), so these promo hurricane lamps should quickly gain value. Calvert Extra was a very popular and affordable blended whiskey. When the current stock runs out, you won't be able to purchase it any longer.

Lamp is made of tin metal (with a pewter look finish) and advertising glass hurricane shade. The lamp measures approx 12-2/8"H x 5-1/2"W x 5-3/4" Deep (with wall mount in place).

Comes in original box that got damp or wet in storage and turned brown around the bottom. Can still read the instructions on the box and manufacturer's info. Integrity of the box is surprisingly still sound (not weak or all wrinkled).

The lamp was wrapped in clear plastic pieces inside the box and was not harmed in any way. May have been manufactured in 1989. Couldn't find a date anywhere, but the project number of the promo ended with "-89X".
