The INA226 is a current shunt and power monitor with an I2C™ or SMBUS compatible interface.
The device monitors both the parallel voltage drop and the bus supply voltage.
Programmable calibration values, conversion times and averages are used in conjunction with an internal multiplier to allow direct reading of current in amps and power in watts.
The INA226 senses current on a common-mode bus voltage that can vary from 0 V to 36 V, independent of the supply voltage. The device is powered from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply with a typical power consumption of 330 µA.
The device is rated to operate over the -40°C to 125 \ xC2°C temperature range and has up to 16 programmable addresses on the I 2 C compatible interface.
