Born in Pennsylvania in 1932, photographer Duane Michaels first studied and became a graphic designer, but later worked as a freelance photographer in magazines and advertising. This book is dedicated to his decades quest for desire and to the spiritual leader of the American poet Walt Whitman (1819-1892). Beautiful monochrome gravure printing is handled by NISSHA Printing Company in Kyoto, Japan.
