So why are these cables so cheap compared to others on the market?

It’s simple, HDMI cables does not have a spec such as “HDR cable” or even “HDMI 2.0”, this is usually the rating of the TVs HDMI connection. A modern TV will use HDMI 2.0 connections this way you know the TV supports 4K resolutions.

HDMI cables however just send data from source to the display, providing they are made with no corners cut they will work with the latest 4K Spec. There are four types of HDMI cable:
