Ancient Manuscript Leaf

[106 x 74 mm. Approx 4.25" x 3". ]

Handwritten in, a cross between Textura and Rotunda scripts--both used during the XII and XIII centuries for liturgical manuscripts and Summa (learned manuscripts etc) respectively. Written on vellum in black ink and highlighted with red smaller capitals and three large Gold illuminated Capitals; 2 on one side and 1 on the other, decorated with purple loops and embellishment around the gold capitals. Colors still bright and gold looks fantastic. Vellum is wrinkled around top and outside margins. Storing under heavy weight for a while should help this dissipate a bit, or framing tightly under glass could also do the trick.
