This is an original press photo. Jean Lemay & Edmond Dontigny, who won the recent 6th Annual International Canoe Race Down Quebec's Turbulent St Maurice River. They covered the 50-mile section of the historic voyageurs trail from St Jacquest-Grandes piles to Trois Rivieres in 6 hours, 30 minutes and 40 seconds, conquering rapids, driving rain, log jams, and more than 2 miles or portages to defeat a field of crack backwoodsmen, rivermen and other professionals. Lemay's performance stamps him as French-Canada's greatest paddler. He has won three of the last four International Races and finished second in one. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches.
