A miniature Austrian bronze figure of the Beatrix Potter character Benjamin Bunny (Peter Rabbit's cousin). This piece would originally have been cold painted but the colour has worn away to reveal the metal. Beautifully modelled, he is complete with his characteristic jacket and clogs.

The Tale of Benjamin Bunny was first published in 1904, the range of Austrian cold painted bronze Beatrix Potter figures were made between approximately 1913 and 1933.

Measures 1 1/8" (2.8 cm) tall and is approximately 1" (2.5 cm) across the base measured from tail to toe.

In fair used condition. This piece would originally have been cold painted but most of the coloured paint has worn away to reveal the metal. Please see the photographs. |
