Rare original 17th Century map of Ancient Ethiopia, showing Middle Africa from Ethiopia till Congo 

with a part of Saudi (Mecca) engraved by van den Pieter van den Keere, 

and published in Mercator's "Atlas Minor" by Cloppenburgh edition. 

French text on verso titled: Du Royaume de Congo.

The name of Abyssinia (Abissino) was given to a former great country of 

East Africa, bounded on the north by Nubia , to the east by the Red Sea.
