Little Drops of Water

Consoler of the Afflicted (Consolatrix Afflictorium) - Our Lady of Luxembourg Figurine

Please Note:  The story below is displayed on the figurine box in Portuguese and Luxembourgish - It is not translated to English

For almost 400 years the Virgin Mary has been venerated as the Consoler of the Afflicted in Luxembourg. In the midst of the Thirty Years' War, the students of the 'Collège de la Compagnie de Jésus' in Luxembourg City, together with Father Jacques Brocquart, placed a wooden statue of the Virgin Mary in front of the city walls. Many pilgrims from all parts of the country and beyond its borders come to worship this statue and bring their worries, fears and prayers to it. In 1666, Marie was elected patron saint of the city and 12 years later, patron saint of the country. Since the French Revolution, she has been in the cathedral as patron saint of the city and the country. Every year there is the Octave in honor of Our Lady of Luxembourg, where many people from the country and abroad go there on pilgrimage to Mary.

Beautiful small figurine for your child to teach them about their faith and the saints.  Each figurine comes in a custom box.
