 Emmanuel Valtierra has been a playing card designer.  creating regular decks to play poker or other well known card games however for his latest project he wanted to do something different. This is how he came up with the opportunity to illustrate this beautiful TAROT deck.

While making the designs for the major arcana, he tried to stay as faithful as possible to the original art. All the elements you see on a standard tarot card will be found in this deck but with an Aztec codex touch. 

With the minor arcana: for the cards 1-10 he followed the rules used for the major arcana except for the last 4 of each pip he wanted to have more freedom with the designs. Instead of page, knight, queen, and king, the deck has Aztec monsters, warriors, goddesses, and gods.
