  Elongated Cent

Beam Bottle on Elongated Cent

BLUE GOOSE
CRA-94

This offering is for an elongated cent similar to the elongated pictured.

This elongated cent is one of many Beam Bottle designs rolled by Danny B. Crabb in the early 1970's. I no longer have all the issues. Of the ones I do have, I only have 1 or 2 left. The series was available by subscription and ran to 200 issues, the first hundred of which were rolled by a fellow named Warren Bunge (BUN).  The series mirrors the Beam Bottles available at the time. In 1973, Mr. Crabb purchased his own Blue Dot machine and began rolling his own issues. The original cost was $9.95 for a set of six.

Condition:
As rolled, pictured and described. While I endeavor to remove or make note of the ones in poor condition, an occasional elongate with a carbon spot or two cannot be ruled out. Most of the backs were coated with shoe polish to preserve the actual obverse of the coin, but once in awhile, an elongated with a blank back fell into the hopper.

About my elongated coin offerings:
These are vintage items rolled many years ago by the original designer, (sometimes engraver), and roller. Many of these rollers were Charter members of The Elongated Collectors (TEC). Most of these charter members no longer produced elongated issues after 1991. Most of the dies are are closed and canceled. When these are gone they are gone forever.

All of my offerings rolled on cents are rolled on copper cents. I do not offer cents rolled on the newer copper plated aluminum cents. Cents dated before 1982 were 98% copper. Cents dated after 1982 were copper plated aluminum. 1982 cents are a tossup, both types were rolled, but they can be determined by weight.
