Antique lithograph - Reunida en Lisboa la soberbia Armada española (Spanish Armada) – c. 1854

Portrays the departure of the Spanish armada from Lisbon in 1588. 

Entitled: ‘Historia de la Marina Real Española. Reunida en Lisboa la soberbia Armada española que se llamó invencible, sale de aquel puerto contra Inglaterra, al mando del Duque de Medinasidonia, á fines de mayo de 1588.’ 

(History of the Spanish Royal Navy. Gathered in Lisbon, the superb Spanish Armada called invincible left that port for England under the command of the Duke of Medinasidonia at the end of May 1588.)

Colour lithograph on card. Illustrator, Urrabieta; engraver, J.J. Martinez, Madrid.

Condition: very good. Some foxing and some minor handling creases on the paper margin. (Please see photos.)
