This texitle is from France and dates form the late 1800's to early 1900's ~ C1900 a beautiful whitework hand embroidered cornelli lace work Chateau window length Curtain.Entirely hand stitched onto a fine Indian muslin ground and hand embroidered in cotton with trailing floral motifs worked in chain stitch. I love the many patterns these reveal~ This textile is elegant and rare ~ These curtains were highly popular in France in the 19th and early 20th century. Because they are so light , they do not often survive without signs of time and use ~ They are wonderful to mix and match and of course two cafe curtains can be made from one long curtain ~~ time to get creative! This curtain is very densly embroidered!! SOOOO much time went into making this! ~

MEASUREMENTS : This lovely lace curtain panel measures approximately 115 inches by 72 inches along the bottom. The top where it is gathered measures about 54 inches ~

CONDITION ~ this textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. This curtain has heavy damage, especially near the bottom !!~ The top 60 inches is ok , but the bottom half if very HOLY ~ This curtain is ideal for creative hands, maybe cutting away the bottom and using the bottom for patching other tambor ~ the top one could make a curtain from etc! Ideal only for creative hands ~ All conditoin reflected in the price ~*~
