~ Hello and welcome to The Textile Trunk! ~ Please come join us on Instagram: @textiletrunk ~
I was very fortunate to have been offered a collection of these wonderful Tambor lace curtains and textiles. This is one from the collection. To view the others from this collection simply search my store for the words " Cornely lace "
This textile is from France and dates form the late 1800's to early 1900's ~ C1900 a beautiful whitework hand embroidered cornelli lace work Chateau window length Curtain. Entirely hand stitched onto a fine Indian muslin ground and hand embroidered in cotton with trailing floral motifs worked in chain stitch. I love the many patterns these reveal~ This textile is elegant and rare ~ These curtains were highly popular in France in the 19th and early 20th century. Because they are so light , they do not often survive without signs of time and use ~ These curtains were most often used as bed hangings ~

MEASUREMENTS : This lovely lace curtain panel measures approximately70 inches long by 22 inches wide

CONDITION ~ This textile is in as found condition and not freshly laundered .
There are a few tiny spots that I know won't wash ~ There are many fabulous mends on this piece! Little repairs dotted all around! Please use the zoom feature on the photographs to view exactly ~ wonderful signs of time and use, they are gorgeous ~
