Description

Check it out...Here's an UNCOMMON 8" wide by 10" tall AUTOGRAPHED B&W glossy photo that has been 100% authentically HAND-SIGNED / AUTOGRAPHED by 1965-67 Georgia Congressman & 1973-75 Secretary of the Army Bo Calloway (Died in 2014-See bio below)-The vintage black ink signature is signed in full at bottom on the front of the VINTAGE photo that has the original US Army photo info inset (Slight smear, see photos below for clarification). How cool is that?

Here's some info on Secretary Calloway:

Howard Hollis Callaway (April 2, 1927 – March 15, 2014) was an American businessman and politician. He served as a Republican member for the 3rd district of Georgia of the United States House of Representatives. He also served as the 11th United States Secretary of the Army. Callaway was born in LaGrange, Georgia, the son of Virginia Hollis and Cason Callaway, and the grandson of Fuller Earle Callaway. Callaway attended Episcopal High School, graduating in 1944. Callaway then attended Georgia Tech and the United States Military Academy, where he earned a degree in military engineering in 1949. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1953 and returned to Georgia to help his parents develop and run Callaway Gardens. Callaway served as a Democratic member, but switched to the Republican Party. In 1965, he was elected to represent the Georgia's 3rd congressional district in the United States House of Representatives. Callaway succeeded Tic Forrester. In 1967, he was succeeded by Jack Brinkley. Callaway resided in Colorado in the 1970s. In 1973, he was appointed by Richard Nixon to serve as the 11th United States Secretary of the Army. He served under Nixon and Gerald Ford and was succeeded by Norman R. Augustine in 1975. Bulow served as Ford's campaign manager, but resigned following accusations that he had used undue political influence to ensure the expansion of a ski resort; he was replaced by Rogers Morton. In 1980, Callaway was a candidate for the United States Senate to represent Colorado. After that, he served as the chairperson of the Colorado Republican Party until 1987. Callaway died in March 2014 from complications of intracerebral hemorrhage in Columbus, Georgia, at the age of 86.

Terms of Sale

I try and place a penny in every photo to help judge the size of the item, obviously it is there for size comparison and is not included with the item. The standard sized Lincoln head penny in the photograph is there for size comparison ONLY and is not included in the package. We're just trying to help you figure out how big the item is. We try and always be as accurate as we can in the item description and will gladly answer any question about item size & description when needed. Please e-mail us with any questions BEFORE the end of sale and BEFORE placing a bid. Postage is determined by the U.S. Postal service and is never refundable. Many of the items are VINTAGE and although they are in very fine condition, they may not function as well as when they were made decades ago. So if you intend on using the old item, please be aware that we are selling it for collector value only. In other words, if you intend on using a 50+ year old letter opener and it breaks, don't get mad at us. It may be hard to believe, but we have received a couple negatives because people broke vintage items while trying to use them.
