This is an antique photograph album that is filled with very odd sepia photographs.
I've never seen anything like this - the photos look like they are photos of prints from engraved plates?

The illustrations look Japanese with animals, plants, buildings, and people etc.

There is some wording on some of the plates which are in Old English and don't make a whole lot of sense.

Such as this .... of drawers some are deepe and some more narrow of ye same cabbinett ... just google that and go to IMAGES and you will see a photo like one of these prints. Then click on that and go to the website relating to it. You will then find that these are sepia photographs of engraved copper bookplates of the 16-17th Century.

The book is titled

A treatise of Japaning and Varnishing being a compleat discovery of those arts. The book had 100 distinct patterns of Japan work on 24 copper plates. ( There are only 17 sepia photos here and the TITLE page is not here ) 1688 the book was published in London. Printed for a sold by the authors George Parker at Mr Richard Woods House over against the Theater, by John Stalker at the Golden Ball in  St. James's Market.

Please see close-up photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition for yourself.
Condition report: The outer cover is very worn, mostly on the edges and corners. There are also some scuffs on the outer surfaces and spine etc.
The corners of the pages inside are damaged and are flaking.
There is a page completely loose and a few that are split. 4 pages have nothing on them. Some are literally holding on by a thread.
The last photo has been torn out.

It measures approx. 11 and 1/2 inches x 9 inches.
There are 17 photos in the album which all measure approx. 7 and 1/2 inches x 4 and 1/2 inches.

Postage policies:

I use the eBay Global Shipping Programme for most of my items as this allows me to send items internationally that I would normally only be able to offer to UK buyers. Items sent under this system are fully insured the shipping price also includes any customs duties.

I do NOT have any control over the shipping or customs prices as eBay themselves set these prices.

Combined postage for multiple items:

AUCTION ITEMS "Usually when items are shipped through our Global Shipping Program it is not possible to combine separate orders as each transaction is given a unique reference code which is needed by our shipping centre to process orders.

EBAY SHOP ITEMS However, it may be possible to get an automatic shipping discount with the Global Shipping Programme by adding all your items to the eBay shopping basket and then purchasing. The eBay shopping cart automatically estimates any discounts for you, combining items where possible.
However only these item must be in the cart at this time and will have to be added in and purchased within a certain timeframe. If you have any other items in your basket the system will be unable to combine the order."

If this automated system does not apply the postage discount for you, please send me an eBay message and I will do my best to try and combine the shipping costs for you.

To see ALL my other 7000+ items for sale, please click on VISIT SHOP or see other items. Strangely, both options seem to only give a limited view of what I have to offer, so to see everything I have available, click on Shop by Category which will give you a much better view.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal sized Coke can (330ml).

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
