Foliage:  Evergreen, yellow-margined leaf blade with slight twist, 1/2 inch wide.

Comments:   'John Burch' produces evergreen, foliage with yellow margins and a slight twist. Blades are 1/2 inch wide.  Lavender flowers are dense; flower spikes are cocks-comb shaped. 'John Burch' spreads by short underground rhizomes.  Mature height is 12 inches to 15 inches.

'John Burch' is wonderful for a lush ground cover. It will tolerate full sun, but blooms best in partial shade to full shade in USDA climate zones 5 or 6 to 10.  Variegation is best when grown in full sun. Average well-drained garden soil is fine.  It adapts to a wide variety of soil types with pH ranging from 4.5 to 6.4.  'John Burch' is drought tolerant.
