A limited golden St. Benedict medal with accents of Red & Blue plus polysatin carry bag, cleaning cloth & Information/prayer Guide in yellow gold plated alloy, a 60cm gold-plated nickel- free chain and an extra 50cm red wax leathee cord chain. Medal diameter is 3.7cm, with pendant hang, length is 4cm; it is made frkm alloy and enamel. The design and color takes inspiration from the bold colors of St. Benedict of Nursia's period in the Middle Ages when he became the first exorcist of the Christian church.

St. Benedict, in his lifetime, led many miracles using the power of the Holy Cross, including his heroic fight against temptation and miraculous escapes vs traps set to take his life. He was imbued by God to have power over Evil and the Devil with the Holy Cross as his instrument. The St. BENEDICT MEDAL (or Jubilee medal), first made in 1880, draws from this tradition. It was first made in the Abbey of Monte Cassino, an important monastery established by St. Benedict in the 6th century.

In the front of the medal you will see a chalice and a raven beside the saint. It says 'Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti'- the cross of St. Benedict. It weighs 20.5gms.

It is, in Catholic traditions, a very powerful medal for spiritual protection. Considered a SACRAMENTAL by the Catholic church, it is a medal that prepares the wearer to recieve the fruit of sacraments and sanctify the varied circumstances in our lives.
