I have endeavoured in this Ghostly little book, to raise the ghost of an Idea, which shall not put my readers out of humour with themselves, with each other, with the season, or with me. May it haunt their houses pleasantly, and no one wish to lay it. - Their faithful Friend and Servant, - C. D. - December, 1843.

 Condition & Description:

Size - 16mo - 6¾ inches tall by 4¼ inches wide by ¾ of an inch deep - approx

SLIPCASE:

 Red boards with the beautiful Golden-Gilt Christmas garland of holly leaves with the title held within.

The slipcase, is a bespoke for this book and is in a beautiful condition.

THE BOOK:

Red covered faux leather boards, rich in colour, with the same golden garland of leaves and holly, and the title of:

'A CHRISTMAS CAROL BY CHARLES DICKENS' - [held within]

There is more gold/gilt decoration to the spine and there is blank tooled embossing around the perimeter of both the front and back boards. This too is in a mint condition.

Magnificent Gold/Gilt decorated edging to all three sides of the pages and when the book is closed it looks magical.

There is a small crack to the front margin on the spine but it's hardly noticeable. 

The pages are of a good quality paper stock. Endpages front and rear are the same colour as the inside pages. 

Illustrations within are very detailed and accompany the story beautifully. 

Story consists of 166 pages with another 2 pages of advertisements at the back of the book. 

An investment at any time of the year.
