General Information:

White Cloud Mountain Minnows (Tanichthys albonubes) are small, peaceful freshwater fish that originate from China. Here's some information about them:

1. **Size:** They are relatively small, usually reaching around 1.5 to 2 inches (4-5 cm) in length.
2. **Coloration:** White Clouds are known for their attractive coloration, which includes a shimmering gold or silver body with bright red fins. The males often display more intense colors during the breeding season.
3. **Temperature and Tank Conditions:** White Clouds are adaptable and can thrive in a wide range of temperatures, but they prefer cooler waters between 64-72°F (18-22°C). They are well-suited for unheated or lightly heated aquariums. A well-planted tank with open swimming areas is ideal.
4. **Diet:** These fish are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. A balanced diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods like brine shrimp or daphnia is suitable.
5. **Behavior:** White Clouds are peaceful and can be kept in community aquariums with other non-aggressive species. They do well in groups, so it's recommended to keep them in schools of at least five individuals.
6. **Breeding:** They are relatively easy to breed. Provide them with a well-planted aquarium and a separate breeding tank if you want to raise the fry. The parents may eat their own eggs, so removing them to a separate tank can increase fry survival.
7. **Hardiness:** White Clouds are hardy and can tolerate a range of water conditions. This makes them suitable for beginners and established aquarists alike.

These minnows are a great choice for community tanks, especially if you're looking for a smaller species that adds color and activity to your aquarium.
