Following on from 2014's “Participation Mystique” (also on Deep Distance Recordings), which sold out 500 in next to no time- purely on word of mouth and with next to no promo; Melodien stay true to their electronic roots with a new collection that sees chattering rhythms go hand in hand with liquid melodies and thick washes of synths, creating an electronic landscape that is timeless in it’s construction, recreating the past by living in the future, appealing to all fans of electronic music and kraut inspired rhythms, whatever era they profess to prefer….

From the mellow ambience of “199.9mg” to the 70's soundtrack of “Obciach” there is much to discover and enjoy, with the motorik hypno beats of “Narkotic” owing as much to Steve Reich as they do to Neu!, whilst opening track “Helicon” hooks you in straight away, with killer, sparkling sequences soon joined by a warm and friendly bass line that adds a human touch to the tune.

Throughout the album, it is immediately evident that it’s clear production is so bright and warm, that every nuance and texture can be heard with ease, allowing the listener to bathe in the rich glow of it’s electronic groove throughout.

Never overcomplicated or cluttered, there is a melodic heart at the centre of the album, each track growing organically from the last, the music rich with energy and a positive quality that lifts it above the norm allowing the icy electronics to thaw in the light of emotion and ensuring that it will be spun on a regular basis, each track a shining jewel that shimmers and delights.
