About this item

  1. Bushu Nakajima Konya is a factory with a 150-year tradition of indigo.
  2. Its traditional techniques have been designated by Saitama Prefecture as an intangible important cultural asset, and this product is a craft manufactured by the hands of a designated technical maintainer.
  3. Currently, Nakajimakonya has ceased production of its own products and only stocks them in stores in Japan.
  4. "AIZOME" dyeing is an ancient Japanese dyeing technique, and its refreshing and relaxing hues can be said to be the color of the Japanese people's heart. It is called "Japan blue" and is widely known overseas. The more you use indigo dyeing, the more you appreciate its taste, but there are some precautions to take when handling it.
  5. [Color Fading]
Because the fabric is woven with yarns dyed dozens of times from light to dark colors, the colors will gradually fade as they are used. Please wash for color removal before wearing. Please wash it separately from other items, as it is prone to dye migration. Please be especially careful when washing in the early stages of use, as darker colors will appear. The surface of the fabric is covered with indigo, which is easily washed off.
Due to the shape of the product, the indigo may not come off evenly after washing and may remain as unevenness, but the unevenness will disappear with use.
  1. [Friction]
  2. "AIZOME"dye will peel off the surface color if it is rubbed strongly or bumped against.Be especially careful with new, darker colors.
  3. [Sunburn]
  4. The indigo covering the surface may fade in the areas exposed to sunlight or air, and the color may change to a tanning effect, but washing will alleviate the difference from other areas. For storage, please avoid direct sunlight and keep out of the open air as much as possible.
  5. [Way of washing]
  6. As a rule, wash by hand or push-wash in cold or lukewarm water. If washing in a washing machine, please fill the machine with plenty of water. Avoid using a drum-type washing machine.Ideally, dehydrate lightly and hang dry in the shade.Do not use bleach. The same goes for detergents containing bleach.Do not use a dryer.
