Condition report: painting is overall in decent condition, shows some minor damages and expected age - like crackling and other defects

Total measurements: approx. 60,5x46,5x3cm with frame, approx. 48,5x34,5cm painting 

Historical context: Karel Zurek (1861-1929) was an academic painter 
born in Trebetice on 12 April 1861, died on 23 April 1929 in Holesov.
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and also studied with Jan Matejka in Krakow.
Study stays in Italy and Spain were of great importance for his work.
He painted many portraits, landscapes and altarpieces for churches in the Holesov region.
In the years 1890-1895 he worked for the lithography of L. Klabusay in Holesov.
Karel Zurek painted curtains and decorations for Holesov volunteers theatre.
In 1901 he painted a curtain for this theatre but it has not survived (Amaterskedivadlo).
