Question for you Barbie experts: when Skipper was introduced in 1965 she was Barbie's 8-year-old little sister. Both of these puzzles are from Whitman, 1965, but in one she seems to be a blonde and in the other a redhead. Was the doll issued as both, or was it common for 8-year-olds in 1965 to dye their hair?

This is a lot of two boxed jigsaw puzzles each with 100 interlocking pieces. Completed puzzles measure 14x18 inches. Each has a Whitman code number of 4646 and a date of 1965. One features Skipper on a picnic with her pal Skooter, and the other depicts the two little girls drinking ice cream floats at a table festooned with Chinese lanterns. Whether you collect Barbie or not, these would look great framed on a wall, especially in a little girl's room.

Condition: both boxes have been taped at the corners, one box lid has a split at the corner, and the other box lid as a split at one corner, a split along the top at the same corner, and some paper detaching at the same corner. Otherwise the lids are in pretty nice shape. The puzzle pieces are all in nice condition, except for one piece in the table puzzle, which does have a tiny corner of paper missing. See close-up photos. Personally, I would not hesitate to give these as gifts.
