This unique antique/vintage doll head is a beautiful piece of artistry. The original 1914 J.D Kestner doll was created from the #243 mold. This “Oriental Baby” doll character head was beautifully recreated in the 1970’s by the artist J.P.

The doll head has striking dark brown glass eyes, an open mouth and full thick black hair. The head is 3.5” tall and is made of bisque/porcelain material, which creates a lovely medium complexion.

The facial makeup of this doll is exceptional. The artistry and color details have created an almost life-like appearance. The black, traditional child’s haircut frames this face perfectly adding to the realism. This doll head is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks or discoloration. The head was never attached to a body and in fact still retains the original Artist “post” attached in the neck for use with up close final works (We will let the new owner remove this post). This doll head comes from a private, non-smoking adult estate collection.

Marked JDK 243 on the neck, this artist doll head is a reproduction from the 1970s era. The artist also has her initials engraved on the neck: J.P. This doll head is perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of doll making and repair.
